About KidKommute
Our Story
KidKommute was founded in 2024/2025 by South African entrepreneurs who witnessed the tragic consequences of unregulated school transport. After regular media reporting of incidents related to scholar transport and service providers, we knew something had to change. We built KidKommute to ensure first and foremost that every child that uses scholar transport is safe and give parents the peace of mind they deserve - knowing their children are tracked, and transported by verified drivers.

The Problem We Solve
Of the 12.6 million children attending school in South Africa, nearly 1.89 million (15%) use vehicles hired by groups of parents for school transport. Many of these vehicles operate without proper oversight, leaving parents with no visibility into their children's safety. KidKommute changes that.
